The pictures are great. They are so clear that I feel like I'm in Maine right now! Pass the lobster, please!

I like it a lot, but there aren't enough pictures of cities and the economy.
Lee Bennett (ATPM Staff) · September 17, 2002 - 20:41 EST #5
This is just my opinion, but Maine isn't exactly known for its cities. If I want pictures of cities, there are other places I'd rather see.

How, exactly, does one take a picture of "the economy?" Have you ever seen an economy? Have you ever held one in your hands? My money says you haven't.

Perhaps the word you failed to find was "community."

Thanks for putting the pictures on the internet. I love to save pictures of Maine as my desktop background. We visit the Kennebunkport/Ogunquit area often. Maine is so beautiful. Someday, I would like to maybe move to Maine. The people are so friendly.

I love these pictures, but there are not enough on the cities and famous places! They are wonderful, though.

I'm from Maine and have been in Tennessee for 12 years. It will always be home and I don't get back nearly as much as I would like. Every summer I went to Old Orchard and the close shot of the pier is almost the exact spot of the cabin we stayed in. THANK YOU!!!

These pictures are true to what life in Maine is like. I live near where one of the pictures was taken, and have seen it regularly.

These pictures are wonderful. When I was younger my family vacationed every year for 20 years in Maine. Seeing these pictures helps me remember all those wonderful times. My Mom, who passed away 2 years ago, always felt that her soul belonged in Maine. If she found a way I am sure she is at Toddy Pond right now, sitting on her big rock listening to the loons.

Lovely pictures. My mom is from Maine and I try to visit there every year. I would love to see pictures of Baxter S.P., some lakes, and some winter scenes - I miss the mountains and snow here in Texas. Maine has many beautiful places. Thank you for pictures I can put on my desktop.

Every time I get really sad because I miss Maine (mind you I am a Floridian) I search the web for pictures. Maine is truly God's country. Thank you for the pictures.

I have never been to Maine. It has always been my dream state and now I am going to get the opportunity to go live up there in a few weeks. I am soooo excited. I'm from SE Alabama originally, but I have lived in Indiana and Alaska. I'm transferring up there to NASB Brunswick from the FL Panhandle. I'm not looking forward to the extreme winters Maine has, but I think the rest of the three seasons will be so worth it. I can't wait!!!

Mike Crockett · October 6, 2006 - 09:42 EST #25
These bring me back to the wonderful times I had in Maine growing up there. Of course there are more pictures that could be put up on your site that could represent Maine even more but this is a great start!!! The two pictures that are missing from your collection are some lobster boats and a picture of a moose.

I moved from Maine in '81' and to this day, I still call it my home. Tennessee is warmer but it's not the same. Thanks for bringing 'home' just a little closer...

Which lighthouse is that first one, with the fall foliage on it? Does anyone know?
ATPM Staff · October 10, 2006 - 23:33 EST #27
Amy - it's Portland Head Light.

"Murder She Wrote" is one of my favorite TV shows. Does anyone know if Cabot Cove is a real place in Maine or was it made up for the show? Anyway, I love the way Maine looks, and I can't wait to visit there!
Faith Woods · September 19, 2007 - 21:03 EST #29
Wonderful pics!!! My husband and I spent our honeymoon in Maine 4 years ago and fell in love (with Maine - ha ha). We are going back up this year for our anniversary and your amazing pictures brought back a lot of wonderful memories. Thank you!
